I have not posted for quite some time because of the discord among the candidates for President this year. The inability of the parties to campaign on merits instead of vitriol.
As an Independent, it was very difficult to wade through the name calling, party candidate assassination and general misinformation in order to choose or even comment on any candidates qualifications or intentions for governing our country. I did, in the end, vote Clinton. Not because I believed that she was a flawless candidate but rather because I believed her to be the safer choice. After all, in my view, having a Republican President who may return us to the Bush years could be disastrous. Since it is Trump, a billionaire businessman, it is even more likely that we will be set back in any progress that we have made to a more middle class favored government. In spite of the belief of his followers, I don't believe that he is working class sympathetic. I will give him a chance though and so should everyone else.
The objective of this blog is to invoke thought and debate on the politics of today to bring about better, more honest politics tomorrow.
